As a Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator and Massage Therapist, as well as a mother of two, it is my philosophy that it is the right of every mother to have a birth story that begins with support, is centered in instinct, and is fulfilled with a sense of empowerment, healing and joy. I believe all women are strong and instinctively capable of having a positive birth experience. Each deserves continuous support and respect for her individual needs and desires. I am an Intern Midwife taking clients while under the supervision of my preceptor. I had five years of hospital doula experience under my belt before I started studying to become a midwife. For the past two years, I have mostly attended homebirths--and let me tell you, I can see the difference! Homebirths generally happen so much more easily than in the hospital. Moms are more comfortable, dads are calmer and babies are happier. I provide comprehensive prenatal, birth and postpartum care, including six weeks of postpartum well-baby care. I also offer lactation support services, occasional monitrice services and can prepare placenta medicine if desired. Please contact me for information on my fees and to set up a complimentary consultation.
